I had the good fortune of collaborating with Billy to come up with a fun theme song, as well as some additional music for the program.

Funny or Die’s Billy on the Street features the unbelievably talented Billy Eichner approaching New Yorkers to offer them money for correctly answering questions about pop culture. The show highlights the hilarity of not only Billy himself, but of the people of New York, as well. It must truly be seen to be believed.

First up is the Chicago Comedy Film Festival, where the film will run at 2pm on Saturday, October 15th. More information about the festival and ticket availability can be found here.

The comedy series, which features closing credits music by Adam Blau and a score by composer John Swihart, is based on a series of webisodes developed by Kudrow, and features “an A-list guest cast who, along with Kudrow, improvise their performances with hilarious results.”  To learn more about the show, including the programming schedule, video trailers and other materials, follow this link to the Web Therapy show page.

The film, by director John Bryant, tells the story of “two bitter, arch-rival brothers [who] discover they’re adopted, and the revelation sends the two adversaries on a hilarious, and sometimes bizarre, cross-country journey in search of their biological parents.”

“The Overbrook Brothers” and its actors have won multiple awards at film festivals across the US.  The comedy has repeatedly aired on both the Sundance Channel and the Independent Film Channel (IFC).

The film is also available for rental on Netflix.

Adam composed the music for the show’s pilot (which aired last fall), and his music continues to be used on the show throughout the season.  Adam is also currently working on two pilots for the same production company: one for CMT and one for TruTV.

Adam’s musical collaborations with Josh go back over a decade, when Adam played keyboards in the Josh Dodes Band.  The band played innumerable venues, especially in and around New York–including The Bitter End and Irving Plaza.  Adam’s keyboard work with the band can be heard on their album, Get Up, but you might also be interested in grabbing Josh’s solo album Freak, as well as checking out his current session and touring work.

This is Adam’s first collaboration with Z. Mulls, and Adam is thrilled at the recognition offered to the partnership by the Great American Song Contest.

“The ladies of pawning are getting their own series on TLC.

The network has given a series order to Pawn Queens after trying out the concept in a special that aired back in November.

The special drew 1.2 million viewers, enough to land Queens an eight-episode series order.  Now, like Extreme Couponing a few weeks back, the show is getting its own series.

Located right outside Chicago, businesswomen Minda and Nikki run the city’s pawn shop that caters to women. This boutique specializes in jewelry, vintage Barbie dolls, and one-of-a-kind antiques. Each episode of the Varuna TV-produced show has the women selling anything in order to help their fledgling company stay afloat.

Pawn Queens will premiere Thursday, May 5 at 10 p.m.”

Adam’s music can already be heard in the original special that TLC aired in November.

“Traces” combines “traditional acrobatic forms with street elements such as skateboarding and basketball, mixed in with some theatre and contemporary dance.” The show, which has already stopped in Chicago, had triumphant productions in Europe and Australia before coming to the US.

Adam will be working in conjunction with the Fred Rogers Center and three other Fellows to create a variety of projects for the Center’s Early Learning Environment, a forthcoming online resource in early literacy and media literacy for teachers, home-based caregivers, and families. Adam will be responsible for creating music and other content for the projects.

The Fred Rogers Center, located at St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, makes it its mission to “advance the fields of early learning and children’s media by acting as a catalyst for communication, collaboration, and creative change.”
